Finally got a break from the old man after 3 driving lessons. I was like...AT LAST! Got a young malay guy on Wednesday, prob around in his late 20s or so. He was quite funny. After i got in the car he asked me which car i drove the last time, then i was like....em...161. Then he was like OH....Tay Boon Jin ah, that old man very little hair on top shiny shiny behind round round and he's quite skinny that one right? I was like....em yeah that one. HAHAHAHA! Went out to drive on the road and he kept singing the whole way through. Then when i stopped at the traffic light, there was a motorbike in front of the car, then he kept horning at the motorcyclist and wave at him...i was like what on earth are you doing? lol.
Yesterday had another lesson too. The instructor that took me on my first lesson took me again yesterday. It was quite fun learning under him. Firstly and most important he teaches in ENGLISH and he's super funny and makes the lesson much more pleasant and fun. Went on to the road stopped at a curb, then he taught me how to change the tire and the things at the engine compartment. Went in a new direction, some road that was close to a expressway, so i had to go fast. I'd never gone so fast in my 2 weeks of driving classes. Usually i'll stick to a max of 20kmh in the circuit and 40kmh on the road but i went to 70kmh yesterday. It was fun and i hope i get more lessons under that instructor and i hope i don't get or at least not so much from that old man, lol!
I'm totally broke right now with like 10 bucks left in my bank and 3 bucks in my wallet. Have to wait another 1 more week before i get my monthly allowance. I'm sooooo craving for a movie right now but i can't afford it at this point. Wanna catch The Enchanted and Fred Claus soooo bad. *cross fingers* i'll get to watch them next week.

Just had my 4th driving lesson today. How unlucky can i get having the same instructor 3 times in a row. Like come on, can you all just assign me another instructor? It's so dull having the same instructor for so many lessons.

This is like my third post in like 5 days. I guess i'm just trying to do something when i've got nothing to do..haha. It had been a very entertaining start to the holidays. Went back to the movies on Saturday (the day right after my exams!) to watch Stardust, granny's house after church on Sunday, MY FIRST DRIVING PRACTICAL LESSONyesterday followed by going back to the movies to collect my GV card and watch The Bee Movie and today went to the movies (again!) with my brother to watch The Game Plan. 3 movies in 4 days, hmmm, i know i'm an extreme movie buff going crazy.
So, let's just start with my first driving lesson yesterday. I was very very nervous before i started because i know driving a car is the real deal, it's not just some go-kart or bumper car where you just go driving off without taking note of anything. The instructor was very nice and patient. He showed me around and explained the checking and safety procedures and every button, pedals and guages in the car. After that started everything. After adjusting the mirrors and sit, was taught to on the engine. I was like uh-oh, but was still quite alright at that time. Then, the instructor asked me to step on the clutch, change to gear 1, accelerate to 2000, release the break and release the clutch halfway. Then, the car started moving forward and i panicked 'cause i'd never made a real car move before. I quickly lifted my feet completely off the clutch and accelerator and luckily the car stalled. I think i almost gave my instructor a heart attack at that stage (haha!). Restarted the engine and taught to move forward and backwards with the car and then we moved on to the circuit. Went really slowly and learnt to drive straight and turn on the bend (i'm really awful at bending at this point) and stopping at cones and pedestrian crossing. The circuit part was quite fun (but i kept stalling the engine) and i guess the scariest most nerve-wrecking part is the first time you move the car, at least for me. I guess later on will be more concerned about parking. My second lesson's tomorrow morning and i hope it'll go well and i'll try not to give my other instructors heart attacks.
After that went to watch The Bee Movie. Hadn't plan to watch it but i'd nothing to do, so watch it anyway. It's quite boring actually, at least for me. I didn't book driving today, so i brought my bro to watch The Game Plan after he came back from school. It was hilarious and we had really great fun watching it.
I guess it's about it at this time. Gotta go get some early sleep to mentally prepare and be alert for lesson tomorrow (at least i'll be more confident i won't kill the instructor and myself..haha!). Cheerios!

Finally got my PDL, paid like $25 for a pathetic piece of paper. Starting my first driving practical tomorrow morning. I'm quite nervous, actually more like petrified. Basically I'm afraid of things like what if i hit something like a car beside or opposite when i start to drive out or reverse to park and stuff like that. I could've cancelled class tomorrow and claim that i'm not mentally prepared but i ain't gonna do that. If i don't start, i guess i won't ever start it. So i guess i've got to really start somewhere and it may not be so bad. It always happens when you keep putting off stuff and the longer you drag it on the more the doubts will cloud your mind. So, i guess i'd already put it off for far too long - almost 6 mths, and it's the time to really get it over and done with. It's like if so many people can drive, why can't i and what's there to be really afraid of?
Watched Stardust yesterday. It was alright, not too bad. This movie's really fairytale-ish. It seems alright during the movie, but when come to think of it after the show, it seems like that if you're someone who knows a lot of fairytale kind of story, they're all kind of the same (including this one). It's like evil witches, prince/princess or something of that sort and then there'll be a really sweet happy ending. The only difference between them all are the more or less different adventures but overall it'll seem like they're all the same. So yeah, it was an alright movie, entertaining enough to keep me 2 hrs in my sit but a bit too predictable. So i guess my next movie will be on Tuesday - Game Plan. Probably be watching December Boys after that if i'm dying of boredom at home.
Can't wait for my first practical driving lesson in approximately 8.5 hrs. I pray that it will all go well and it should and it will always be better after the first time and definitely build confidence. Cheers!

Exams are finally over today and you have no idea how glad and relieved i am. It has been a gruelling 3 weeks of exams which feels like an entire 1 year. Well, considering the 1 week before when i had to rush out my database assignment, it has been a very gruelling 4 weeks! Now it's the time when i'll be dreading the day the results will be released on 5th Dec. Have to go back on the 6th Dec for enrolment for the next 2 semesters and those who have failed 2 or more papers have to go for a student progress interview with the RMIT university academic staff (scary!).
So, I'm just gonna predict my chance of passing - Accounting (ACCT 2060) ----------- 90-10 chance pass Business Computing (ISYS 2059) - 60-40 chance pass Macroeconomics (ECON 1016) ---- 20-80 chance pass (if must pass final paper) ------------------------------------------ 45-55 chance pass (if counted as 50% overall) Marketing (MKTG 1199) ------------ 60-40 chance pass
(Crossing my fingers tight and praying hard i'll pass them all!)
Ok, enough of exam crap. The thought of the day that results will be out approaching in a mere 3 weeks is already giving me the chills. I'll be starting my 1st driving practical lesson on Monday and i'm quite nervous actually. I've yet to get my provisional driving licence (PDL) so probably gotta go down to the driving school tomorrow morning to apply for 1. Tried asking at post office just now, but too bad they only do renewals so gotta go down tomorrow since it's already too late and the Traffic Police office closes at 5.30pm today (slackers!). Thought of getting it on Monday before i start lesson, but the office only opens at 8.30am and my driving starts at that exact same time -_-"...pathetic it is. Gotta make an extra trip down to ubi tomorrow, it's been like 5 mths since i've been there. The last time was on 18th May when i went to sit for my basic theory test (BTT).
Can't wait for the winter trip next month to Korea, will be spending around 1 to 2 nights at a skiing resort, it looks fun and i think i'm gonna have a blast. Bought winter clothes already except for shoes and bag. All the winter wear for all 5 of us came up to a whoapping $3,000!
Around 2 weeks ago went browsing at the CD store, I got this CD called RyanDan. Amazing it is that i still could squeeze some time out to go movie and music shopping during exam period! I had no idea who they were and why i got it, but i just did. Saw it off the shelf and it looked kind of intesting. They're basically identical twins from Canada. It's good for people who aren't too much into loud music - as in rock and metal music. It's more of a classical-pop kind of thing. It's real cool because both of them have a really wide vocal range - they can sing from baritone up to soprano and it sounds so effortless, if only i had half their talent i'll be singing my life away (ok i'll just shut up 'bout that). Here's 1 of the few tracks that i like on the album, got it from you tube.
