Reached home almost an hour ago and just showered 5 min ago. So, while waiting for my hair to dry, decided to come on and post something.
Somehow i wonder why, this question kept popping up in my mind - What is life?
I guess i've drifted so far away that i have no idea what is it anymore.
I think work has consumed most of my time and energy. I don't mind if i enjoy it, but the thing is that i don't think i do anymore. Everytime when the word work appears, i'll always have the incessant feeling that i rather be in school or even at church. At least everyone in church and school are your friends because they earnestly want to be your friend, unlike work where you constantly have to build a fence around yourself, guarding your back and don't know who to place your trust in. Work's piling like nobody's business. They're throwing jobs at me like i'm an insane octopus and am so tired of everybody complaining when i'm also finding it hard to cope.
Sometimes it does come to a point when i'll start wondering what's the use of complaining anyway. Some of them who got the idea that i'm struggling at work keep telling me to speak up or complain about the plight at work, but what's the use? If you come to think of it, God has blessed me so abundantly with a job, work to do on the job, the opportunity to learn and earn money, what position am i to complain when i can actually do something better? Everybody should just stop complaining and start being thankful.
I'm totally drained. Sometimes i do feel like i should do myself a favour and quit the job. I guess with patience and God's guidance, i'll know when to leave when the time comes. I'm planning my departure in November, it's well passed midnight so it'll be another 125 days. After this week, it'll be 3 more months to tendering and 4 more months to leaving. If things start to get a little too hard to handle, i'll probably tender in 1 month time and leave in 2. However, the reason why i'm clinging on til November is because i have an obligation to myself and my parents to save up my targeted amount by December for my final year in university so i just can't quit anytime i like. Who knows, anything can happen.
Apart from that, I am kind of excited planning my first big trip away from home. Am planning a trip to South Africa for volunteer work either in December or January depending on how things turn out over the next few months. It'll be a 2 week trip and i hope that it'll be fun and beneficial. If it's any good, i may probably plan future trips there again. At least i think this is so much better than working in my current workplace as i honestly think that this trip will teach you what life really is. To me, it's not money or career, but just the simple fact of being thankful. So yea, i think it'll be a really humbling experience.
