I was somehow so frustrated and kind of angry at work today, so much so that i took half the day off and went off after lunch.
Firstly, my computer got re-formatted and the accounting software just refused to open. Since i couldn't open it and have nothing to do on spreadsheet, there's actually nothing much i could possibly do. The only thing is to wait for the senior accountant to come back from client's place to reinstall the program again and she won't be back til after lunch and not exactly sure when after lunch she'll be back. So, who knows if she'll be back around maybe even 3 or 4? And what was i suppose to do for those few hours? I'd rather earn my pay doing something than earn my pay by just sitting there doing nothing.
Secondly, i am, or rather i was sitting at a workstation that was by the side and quite enclosed. My colleague that was sitting beside me was sitting at a more opened area. I wasn't working on Friday and of what i'd heard from my other colleagues, she kind of had a conflict with another colleague who was sitting behind her and she went to complain to my supervisor. Apparently, after working hours, they took all my stuff at my desk and transferred to hers and all her stuff transferred to mine. That was something that i thought wasn't necessary at all and they don't even have the courtesy of letting me know before touching my things. This is probably my 5th desk in 10 months. They're practically treating me like a ping pong ball hitting me in every possible way around the office just because i'm working part time. Do they actually think it's fun moving around?
Lastly, i've a couple of my own jobs to do and they're quite urgent. Something that really gets on my nerve is everytime even before i start on my own jobs or doing them half way, the accounts senior will always pass me some other jobs and say it's very urgent and wants me to start straight away. Everytime when i do the accounts that she pass to me, i neglect my own jobs and my supervisor is always chasing me for my jobs. It's like what on earth do you expect me to do? I want to start and complete my jobs asap but everytime before i can do that they pass me new "urgent" jobs to do. Like Li Ting said today, the other jobs that are not originally ours to do are always urgent and our own jobs are not. That is probably why Li Ting and i are so tempted to resign.
Seriously, all they need to do now is to pull one more crazy stunt on me and i'm gone. I was planning to leave in December, that's another 7 months 2 weeks and 4 days (and yes i'm insanely counting down already). But, during anytime in this period, all it takes for me to leave earlier than expected is just one more crazy stunt and i'll snap. I feel that i've already been very patient compared to the others who i guess might have already snapped long time ago.
I've had this strange job offer as a part-time accounts assistant on facebook from someone i didn't know 3 weeks ago. I guess it won't hurt trying to find out more about it. If they'll allow short-term work til December and flexible timing i'll jump over with no hesitant at all.
