Took the SAT exam this morning and it was horrible. I woke up at 6.15am, breakfast at 6.30am and went off at 6.50am. Reached FTC at 7.50am, took my attendance, went in to sit and waited. The paper was supposed to start at 8am but i have no idea what the hell were those 3 invigilators in front doing and in the end started at almost 8.30am.There were 10 sections and i was apparently rushing through the paper. The maths sections weren't too bad but it was the english that killed me. Most of the sections were 7 of the sections were 25 min each, 2 sections were 20 min each and the last 1 was 10min. The english was just horrible, or should i said my english is horrible! Most of the vocab questions as in fill the blanks in the sentence with choices given and some of the passages were so long that i didn't have the time to read it all to answer the questions so i just read through the questions and look for the answer in the passage which was pathetically difficult because it's like sec sch like that, the answers cannot be found directly from the pessage, so kind of close my eye and pick an answer. I guess i've spent too much time worrying about the Maths section to worry about the English section, that's why the english section got me.The really really bad thing was the paper was overall 5hrs long!! I set til my butt almost split into half. I'd been sitting since 7.50am and with the late start, the 2 5min breaks and the in between section's mini pause before we start the next section, totalling break time to around 30min, the paper was 3hrs 45min long so left at 1pm. It doesn't feel that long when u're rushing to finish all the questions, but when you come to think about it, 5hrs of sitting there waiting and rushing to finish the sections is pretty long.I guess i'll wait for the results, which is released on 8th Nov, that's 1 day after the 2nd December's SAT sitting registration deadline, so i guess i've gotta wait til 27th Jan to retake if i do badly for this sitting which i feel that i did. I guess it's no point worrying about it now as i've already taken it.After the paper decided to stay out a bit to chill. I've not been to that part of town for 5 long mths already and i can't believe how much i miss roaming around that area just after 1 yr of studying over there. Still remember that i'll always drop in at coldstorage to grab some water before going to class until all the cashiers there recognise me, then if it's a morning class, i'll always walk to heeren to get the Today newspaper and once in awhile drop in to HMV to browse the VCD & DVD section and then cross over to cineleisure for lunch and sometimes catch a movie by myself. So today was pretty much the same, after the paper went to coldstorage and they were selling all these halloween staff and huge pumpkins and it just reminded me that halloween is drawing near. So bought timeout choco and 2 small pumpkin candles. After that drop by heeren to check it out after the renovation. Went down to peep at The Village which replaced marche and looked around the new shops there. Walk passed this shop then saw this cute hang-on-the-wall deco and bought it, it was $18. There's this dog on it and it says "When 'Please' Doesn't Work....Beg!!" So gonna hang that on my wall with the other 2 that i bought in Australia. After that went home, as usual changed train at Raffles then met Victor there and we took the train back to Pasir Ris. He was another unlucky chap that was pulled to the investment and course talk by Wanying and of course he didn't want to invest because it's a bit too much for his liking, in fact it's too much for all our liking because the investing amount is more than $1k and the course is around $1.2k and it's like how do ppl like us who don't earn much or in fact not even earning afford to come out with this sum of money when most of us don't even have $100 to spare? The worse thing is that what if the company isn't doing well, then won't we be at a disadvantage too? Honestly speaking, i'm doing accounts for other companies and i've already been through a couple of em and i know it's dumb to invest in something like that which may be successful at 1 point but not in the long term. If it's something like starhub or singtel it's still ok, not only do they have broadband but they have telephone services and cable tv which they can fall back on if one of the services they provide doesn't succeed. This is just a company that wants to make Singapore a wireless country and what can they fall back on if one day it's not as profitable? They will only have the money that the ppl invest in and the courses that they provide and i don't see it as profitable in the long run so what's the fuss all about in pestering us to invest and join courses which cost us a few thousand dollars which we obviously CANNOT afford.
So i guess that's it and I'm just gonna chill a bit more and looking forward to the next public holiday so that i can get a break from work..lol.
